AN EVENING WITH GREG PICCOLO
Blues Sax - Greg was a leader, singer and saxophonist for the multi-Grammy Award nominated band, Roomful of Blues for 25 years. He was nominated for W.C. Handy Award and Blues Foundation Award for Best Saxophonist.
Greg performed on Eric Clapton's "Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010" (DVD), Jimmie Vaughan's 2002 Grammy Award winning album, "Do You Get the Blues?" and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Carnegie Hall Concert" (CD). He has also recorded and/or performed with Pat Benatar, Etta James, Dr. John, Big Joe Turner, Eddie Vinson, J. Geils and Earl King. He opened the shows for B.B. King, Dr. John and Robert Cray. He has been touring internationally with Jimmie Vaughan last 3 years. They appeared on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" show in 2010 and at Lincoln Center in New York city, joined by W.C. Clark, Lou Ann Barton and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame winner, Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top in 2011. In 2010, Jimmie Vaughan and Greg Piccolo recorded and released the album, "Plays Blues, Ballads and Favorites", which was nominated for 2011 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. They also recorded the song, "The Ironic Twist", which w as nominated for 1999 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
