Inventive, restless, and passionately artistic; influenced by the ex-pat writers of the early 20th century, obscure political songs of the '60s and 1980s alt-pop, singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell has gifted the music world with a folk opera (Hadestown, 2010) and several themed albums: 2012's Young Man in America, 2013's Child Ballads (which won a BBC Folk Award for Best Traditional Song), and 2014's XOA. The common thread is her interest in the world around her, leading her tackle big themes with the same emotional intimacy with which most artists describe their inner lives.

Based in Vermont and Brooklyn, Anais recorded for Ani Difranco's Righteous Babe Records for several years before starting her own Wilderland label in 2012. She has headlined solo and with her band worldwide and supported tours for Bon Iver, Ani Difranco, and the Low Anthem.

Opening the show is the duo of Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive and Benjamin Lazar Davis of Cuddlemagic and many other projects. Their new EP came out this fall on Signature Sounds.
