About Legends Fight Night
This unique event celebrates its ninth year, and continues to grow in popularity. Originally founded in 2003 by a small group of friends and colleagues in the institutional investment industry, "Fight Night" has emerged as one of the "IT CHARITY EVENTS" in Chicago. Over the last 8 years, the event has raised in excess of $1.6M, benefitting such charities as Bear Necessities Pediatric Care Foundation and The Butkus Foundation.
Founder Neal Wilkinson and the Board of Directors, in an aim to extend the charitable reach of "Fight Night" and other fundraising efforts, launched the OpenField Foundation (O.F.F.) early this year. O.F.F. will serve as a charitable fundraising platform with a clear mandate to support (via grants, gifts and donations) small, new and underserved charities whose cause addresses the needs of individuals in one of the following three areas: Sports/Wellness - Military Veterans - Children.
Each year, proceeds of Legends Fight Night will benefit the broad efforts of OpenField Foundation, as well as two "Benefactor Charities, carefully selected by O.F.F.'s Board of Directors. The 2011 "Benefactor Charities are: Walking With Anthony and the Semper Fi Fund
