Stories of Completion: San Francisco Showing
"Wow. Twig can get it across! Authentically. And with humor. What else is there? Just see it!"
-Kim McCourt, Therapist About the Show:Twig spent the last 6 years with his sleeves rolled up wrestling with the information emerging from the science of traumatology and therapeutic practices like Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing. His goals, and success with them, have covered broad territory. He's managed to make major strides in resolving his own PTSD; has become a respected trauma therapist and consultant on four continents working with the poor and wealthy alike; has proposed a coherent narrative detailing an autocatalytic relationship between the accumulation of stress [trauma] and development of complex society; and he's been having a good time while doing it.
This latest project, his Stories of Completion educational performance art piece, is a physically and emotionally charged presentation where he uses autobiographical accounts to share the participant experience of living with and recovering from trauma. The show highlights the emerging therapeutic practice of Somatic Experiencing making it relevant to helping professionals and the general public alike. It also furthers one of Twig's underlying questions: what if everybody knew that it didn't have to be like this?
Unexpected, unconventional, insightful, moving, witty and fun, Stories of Completion is a blend of performance art and education, self-revelation and social observation, cultural animation and expert testimony about the under-acknowledged crises of individual and widespread traumatization, the hidden wisdom of the body and human nature, and the truth of what's possible when our cultural forms turn toward supporting rather than thwarting our Organic Intelligence.
Q & A Session:Twig will be available for a brief Q & A session after the show to discuss any burning questions. Also, you can visit LiberationIsPossible.org/Facebook to extend the conversation after the fact.
Time: Seating will begin 30 minutes prior to show time. To hold the integrity of the space no late seating will be available. Please arrive with plenty of time to get settled. A brief intermission will happen midway through the show.

In truth the "People's Price" is meant to be accessible but it's not exactly sustainable. Thus if you have means and are inclined please consider visiting the donation box after the show.
