-for K - 1st grade in 2015-2016 School Year

Become a junior paleontologist and time travel through New Mexico's Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras seeking prehistoric animals. Discover how paleontologists use detective skills and trek through Triassic and Jurassic forests, cross Cretaceous seas, and traverse Tertiary grasslands in search of answers. Activities include art projects, games, stories, investigating real specimens from the Museum's collections, and visits to the Museum's exhibits.  Classes are limited to 16 children and are taught by two adult instructors and one aide.

Aftercare will be available from 3:30-5:00pm for an additional fee of $50 per week. Payment for aftercare must be paid by cash or check on the first day of camp at 8:00am. Enroll in person at NMMNH&S, do contact Heather McCurdy at Heather.MacCurdy@state.nm.us to reserve a spot. Sign-up for aftercare is on the first day of camp at 8:00am only.


YOU NEED TO KNOW
These classes are scheduled rain or shine. The minimum number of participants for a class is 6. Please note that the Museum staff (including instructors, aides and all other staff) cannot take responsibility for dispensing prescription or over-the-counter medications. Campers are required to provide their own lunch for full-day programs and a snack and drink for half-day programs. Field trips require a day-pack with lunch, water bottle, hat and sunscreen as well as any other necessary items noted in the registration confirmation letter. Campers must wear shoes appropriate for field trips, no open-toed shoes such as sandals.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants. Full refund will be given if the session is canceled by the Museum due to low enrollment.
