The Current's 4th Anniversary Show:||: NYC A Cappella With Special Guests
The Current is a dynamic mixed a cappella group based in NYC, whose musical heart beats for pop, rock, R&B, and other contemporary material within the cultural soundscape, including indie and original music.
Founded in January 2011, the thirteen-strong vocal posse features a solid sonic blend, with a big obvious emphasis on fun and boasts a roster as diverse as its repertoire, proudly spanning a significant range of ages, day jobs, and other life demographics.
To date, The Current has headlined a multitude of shows and charity events at local joints like Rockwood Music Hall and The Delancey, has wowed at corporate and other private functions, and has also been known to turn up more spontaneously in urban hotspots like Times Square and Rockefeller Center.
The Current is excited to return to The Triad for the first time since their sold-out 1st Anniversary show in 2011. Since then, the group has become one of just 50 a cappella groups worldwide to have been accepted into the esteemed Contemporary A Cappella League (CAL). The Current has also released music on iTunes, along with a first music video on YouTube, and a second coming soon.
