G'Day New York - Karen Jacobsen The GPS Girl in Concert
You may have heard her voice as "Australian Karen" in one of 400 million GPS devices and smartphones giving directions, but on Tuesday, January 13th she takes to the stage with a set of her original songs at the Triad at Stage72.
Karen Jacobsen is The GPS Girl, a singer and songwriter who turned one voice-over booking into an empowerment brand. The GPS Girl travels the world motivating and entertaining groups who want to learn how to "recalculate" and keep going no matter what happens in life and in business.
Join Aussie Karen as she performs her piano pop songs and breathy vocals solo at the grand piano, while giving the occasional direction in that "never-seen-a-cigarette-in-her-life" voice. Prepare to be entertained, inspired, and a little freaked out to hear "the voice" live.
Karen has appeared on ABC World News Tonight, NBC Today Show, CBS Early Show, Inside Edition, NPR, The New York Times, NY Daily News, Glamour Magazine, and named one of People Magazine's Most Intriguing People. She has been told she had really made it when she was recently a clue in The New York Times crossword puzzle. She has shared the bill with Norah Jones, Neil Sedaka and Christopher Cross, and performed The Star Spangled Banner at many major sporting events including the New York Jets game at Giants Stadium to 80 000 people.
