1. What are the eligibility requirements for charities to receive your donations?
Organizations that we donate to must be 501(c)3 non-profit (in the US) or registered charities (in Canada). They must fit into one of our four donation categories: Animals, Children, Environment, and Human Rights (usually dealing with hunger, homelessness, or health). Our company does not donate to religious or political organizations.
2. Why is there no Arts category?
When we decided which charitable categories to donate to, we did consider an Arts category. The majority of our producer clients are arts-based, and we save most organizations at least a percent on their bottom line. In addition, we don't charge producers for our services. We hope this is seen as our way of giving back to the arts.
3. How can my organization become a donation recipient?
The charities we donate to are suggested by our customers. If they fit the qualifications listed in #1, they're added to a master charities list. Our Not-Just-For-Profiteer randomly selects two from each category, and checks to make sure that they are geographically diverse. Our employees vote on the final charities proposed, selecting one from each category. The votes are tallied and the charities with the most votes in each category become the recipients for the following quarter's donations.
4. My organization has been chosen as a recipient. What does the process look like?
Congratulations! This is what will happen now:
Each time someone orders tickets through our website, they vote for one category at the checkout. At the end of each month, all of the votes are tallied up and the 5% of our profits is divided accordingly. Checks are usually mailed out a month or two later. There is no way to tell how much you will receive, as it depends on the number of tickets sold, the number of votes your category gets during the month, and our general efficiency as a company.
5. How can my organization become the "spotlight charity" in your article?
We rotate charities quarterly, and each quarter has a "spotlight charity":
ENVIRONMENT - January - March
HUMAN RIGHTS - April - June
ANIMALS - July - September
CHILDREN - October - December
If you happen to be the charity selected for the category that is being spotlighted during that quarter, we will send you some interview questions.
6. I suggested a charity and they have not been a recipient yet.
Please note that we receive a multitude of charity suggestions daily. Given the number of wonderful causes there are, and that we rotate charities quarterly, there are going to be some deserving charities that do not end up as recipients. If you don't see your suggested charity become a recipient, don't be disheartened - there are many ways to give. If you don't already, please consider volunteering for the organization that has a special place in your heart.

7. I work at a non-profit organization. Can we process donations through your service?
No, we do not process donations. We recommend Groundspring/Network for Good.
