Hot Tickets: San Francisco

February 14, 2012 12:00 PM

Every Tuesday at noon, PST, Brown Paper Tickets will post upcoming events happening in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here are hot tickets for events coming up. Check back for stellar events that fit the interests of locals and tourists alike.

Thursday, February 16 | Soul of the City 2012 - A celebration of the San Francisco Organizing Project's past, present, and future. Come applaud our community honorees while you enjoy the intriguing You Are Beautiful art show on display at the Mission Cultural Center, delicious appetizers, and drinks.

Friday, February 17 | Black & White Beer Ball - SF beer week is one of the most exciting times for the northern California craft beer world. With some of the best breweries in the world being in and descending on the San Francisco bay area, there's an obligation to provide the best entertainment. Although a part of the bay area, the North Bay hasn't provided a major event for this jam packed week. Ales for Autism has striven to fill that hole and present to you, the Black & White Beer Ball.

Friday, February 17 | Three's Company - Two early Three's Company episodes, live, on-stage. Whether you loved or hated the over-the-top, bawdy antics of John Ritter, Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt, this is bound to be interesting. Don't miss the wacky high-jinx, misunderstandings and pratfalls that Three's Company is famous for.

Friday, February 17 | San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival - Want to learn how to play bluegrass? Workshops include a bluegrass bass workshop with Tom Drohan, a modern banjo workshop with Greg Liszt, a bluegrass banjo workshop with Jim Chayka, Working with Rhythm in Clawhammer Banjo with Mark Olitsky and a How to Get that Old-Time Sound fiddle workshop with Earl White.

Monday, February 20 I Porchlight: A Storytelling Series  Young Love. Sweet, romantic, and innocent or awkward, confusing, and misguided. Or sweet and misguided. Or hot and confusing. Awkward and romantic. Doomed? Epic? Come listen to stories of being in love during a time when we were clearly less mature than we are now with: singer/songwriter David Berkeley, comedian Scott Capurro, middle school teacher Elise Dicharry, managing editor of The Rumpus Isaac Fitzgerald, writer and retired teacher and Ron Jones and writer Suzanne Kleid

Know of any other events happening in the Bay Area area this week? Post them in the comments section.
