December 08, 2011 9:00 AM
Every Thursday at noon, EST, Brown Paper Tickets posts upcoming events happening in the Boston area. Here are hot tickets for events coming up. Check back for stellar events that fit the interests of locals and tourists alike.

Friday, December 9 I 2nd Annual Charity For Youth Concert  Bella Luna Restaurant & Milky Way Lounge host their 2nd Annual Charity for Youth Concert. Returning from last year are local progressive Afrofunk favorites, The Macrotones. Joining them this year are local new-comers Kina Zoré - a fusion of traditional and contemporary African music - and Uhuru Afrika featuring DJs Adam Gibbons & Max Pela and Master percussionist Sidy Maiga. Last year they raised over $1,000 for local non-profit organizations, Roxbury Youthworks and Sociedad Latina. Additionally, guests were encouraged to bring a gift donation which mounted high under a Christmas then brought over to Horizons for Homeless Children. This year they hope to raise even more money, collect more gifts, all while enjoying Boston's best live music and DJ offerings.

Friday, December 9 I "Tinsel & Tunes" Christmas Cabaret at Raffael's at South Shore Country Club  The Christmas musical cabaret revue "Tinsel and Tunes" will star four of Boston's very best professional cabaret performers including: Lynda D'Amour, Brian De Lorenzo, Jan Peters & Randy Zinkus. Mr. Tom LaMark is the Music Director & will be at the keyboard for the show. This show "Puts even Scrooge in the Christmas Spirit."

Saturday, December 10 I New Lullabies with Aaron Larget-Caplan  Classical guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan presents an evening of contemporary music in the genre of a lullaby with his latest New Lullaby Project Premiere Concert at the New School of Music. With many of the composers present, Aaron will premiere five new lullabies and give the Cambridge premieres to six others. Milk and cookies will be served in a meet-the-artist & composer reception. Aaron Larget-Caplan premièred the first "New Lullaby" in 2007 and has since premiered 30. He released a CD featuring 14 new lullabies in 2010 called "New Lullaby", which Fanfare Magazine wrote: "This is not some godawful "Classics-for-Baby" CD, something new has been attempted here." Classical Guitar Magazine called it "Ideal late-night listening" and a young fan expressed it as "Mom, this is the music I want to fall asleep to for the rest of my life."

Saturday, December 10 I The Dixie Prix CD Release Party @ The Magic Room  Join The Dixie Prix and special guests Thunderpants Johnsons Hillbilly Orchestra (Lowell MA's FINEST Hillbilly Orchestra) for an evening fun and frivolity to celebrate the release of The Dixie Prix 1st Album "Pronounced Dee Hee Pree" on 2 Funky Int'l Records. Ticket Price includes a copy of "Pronounced Dee Hee Pree".

Sunday, December 11 I The 238th Anniversary Boston Tea Party Annual Reenactment  By December 16, 1773, all the fuss about tea in Boston had come to a boil. Three ships loaded with tea sat anchored in Boston harbor. The Patriots were determined to prevent the tea on these ships from being landed on American soil, because if it were, a tax would be due upon it. This is where you join the party! Come take on the role of Patriot or Loyalist in this spirited reenactment of the Boston Tea Party. Hear from the likes of John Hancock, the richest man in Boston; Francis Rotch, owner of the ship Dartmouth; famed orator and doctor Joseph Warren; and notorious rabble rouser Samuel Adams. Then, witness firsthand the event that John Adams said "is so bold, so daring, so intrepid and so inflexible, that I can't but consider it an epoch in history."
