Hot Tickets: Los Angeles

October 31, 2011 12:13 PM
Every Monday at noon, PST, Brown Paper Tickets will post upcoming events happening in the Los Angeles area. Here are hot tickets for events coming up. Check back for stellar events that fit the interests of locals and tourists alike.

TONIGHT! Island of Lost Souls (1932) & Them! (1954): Celebrate Halloween with these two horror classics hand-picked by Gremlins director Joe Dante!

Thursday, November 3 | The Heart, She Holler (sneak preview, Patton Oswalt in person!): See the six-part miniseries from the creators of Wonder Showzen before it hits Adult Swim!

Thursday, November 3 | Brandee Built on Crazee: A one-woman show directed by Michael Steger (90210) and Sean Hankinson. Brandee Tucker plays over fifteen wacky people who have shockingly inspired her in various ways. The audience will go through a journey meeting crazee family members, childhood bullies, a beauty shop guru and many more exciting characters.

Friday, November 4 | The Bell Curve: Apologies - TV Pilot Taping:  Welcome to "The Bell Curve!" Stand-up comedian W. Kamau Bell is known for his solo comedy show, "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour." Well after four years of ending racism, Kamau has decided he is ready to take on something new. In fact he's going to take on everything else... one show at a time. The major difference between the new version of "The Bell Curve" and the old one is that this time Kamau is not doing it alone. He has recruited a gang of his favorite comedians, writers, and occasionally musicians to help him out. This special show includes Hari Kondabolu (Comedy Central), Marc Maron (WTF with Marc Maron), John Ennis (Mr. Show), Chuck Sklar (The Chris Rock Show, Lopez Tonight), fellow "Laughter Against the Machine" comics Nato Green and Janine Brito, and other special guests TBA.

Sunday, November 6 | SANITY IS FOR SUCKERS: A night of one-act plays to benefit 826LA, LA's 826 National chapter. Can't make it? Donate here.
