Friday, November - spurn  spurn returns to The PIT this fall for a wild 10th anniversary comedy extravaganza, brimming with satire, pathos and madcap whimsy. After ten years performing in NYC, the cast of spurn finds themselves older, fatter and funnier. And spawning? Who would trust these people with diminutive humans? Get ready to call Child Protective Services after spurn explains why "babies are dicks."

Sunday, November 6 - dinner with True Friends dinner with True Friends by Vérité Catering  Once a month, we invite individuals in need of a friend, whether you are: new to the city, new to a plant-based diet, simply want good company. We host a five course dinner, limited to 12 guests. A percentage of the ticket price is donated to a charity that will be decided at the end of the dinner by all attending. The menu will be posted one week before dinner, and is based on what is in season.  Here's a sample menu: chilled basil cucumber bisque with smoked paprika infused oil, israeli couscous croquettes with beet coulis, spring green salad with garlic croutons in champagne vinaigrette, thyme roasted polenta with sauteed water spinach and kohlrabi in creamy corn bechamel, strawberry mango sorbet and a mini chocolate cake with almond frosting smothered in chocolate.

Monday, November 7 - Green Theatre Collective's Fall Festival  GTC's Fall Festival will benefit Green Theatre Collective's 2012 summer production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. The evening will featuare a dinner and silent auction, a reading of Michael Raver's play "Quiet Electricity" and mingling. Green Theatre Collective is one of the country's first eco theatre companies, and produces sustainable theatre in outdoor environments. By performing in outdoor spaces used by the community, we not only seek to entertain our audiences, but also help reacquaint them with their environment, and acknowledge the need to preserve and honor it. Green Theatre Collective looks to reach as many people as possible; from highly populated urban areas, to smaller more rural communities as well, we are confident that in using minimal resources we are able to entertain and enrich communities with powerful stories in dynamic environments.
