Starts TOMORROW! Thursday, October 13  - Musical of the Living Dead  Back for a second bloody year, this "Musical Zom-com" (zombie comedy), "Musical of the Living Dead" is an original musical parody of classic zombie films and musical theatre.  Featuring music inspired by everything from Gershwin to Green Day, "Musical of the Living Dead" follows the lives of ten very different people trapped in a farmhouse during the breakout of a zombie apocalypse. They are all brought together seeking refuge from the brain-eating zombies outside and, following classic zombie genre rules, we see who gets eaten, who comes back to eat someone else and who lives to fight another day.

Starts Friday, October 14 - 3rd Annual Edison Park Comedy Festival  Yes I Am Show Business in conjunction with the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 3rd Annuall Edison Park Comedy Fest beginning Friday, October 14th and running through Sunday, the 16th. The fest will feature over twenty of Chicago's best stand-up comedians performing at five venues in Edison Park.  Each show will consist of a different line-up of Chicago's best-known comics.

Starts Friday, October 14 - Chicago Comedy Film Festival The Chicago Comedy Film Festival is an annual festival devoted to feature length and short comedy films. In October 2011, CCFF will be the first national, Chicago based film festival devoted to comedy.

Saturday, October 15 - Chocolate Diva  The Bronzeville team brings authentic blues and jazz back. Featuring Kelli Rich, a one-woman show giving tribute to Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters, Josephine Baker, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. Miss Rich, president of Some Like It Black and Bobbie Johnson, president of Race To Knowledge  are teaming up to bring authentic cultural events back to Bronzeville, once a cultural mecca for many famous African American artists. Even though a large percentage of these African American artists contributed to the Harlem Renaissance, they spent a great deal of time in Bronzeville.  Duke Ellington once said, "No one went without food or a place to stay in Bronzeville." Bronzeville was once home to hot spots such as The Grand Terrace, Gerri's Palm Tavern, or the Regal Theater and "Chocolate Diva" promises a return to Bronzeville's rich past. It trails the path of the great migration.  Starting with music from the roaring 20's up to the romping 50's.  When Bessie Smith was the "Empress of Blues", Ethel Waters was the sexy black flapper "Sweet Mama String Bean," Josephine Baker was famous for her exotic menagerie, Billie Holiday was simply called "Lady Day" and Dinah Washington was better known as "The Queen."

Monday, October 17 - Now That's Italian! Ravioli Night with Now We're Cookin' - Fall encourages us to think about spending more time in the kitchen, and what better way to get the whole family involved than making home-made pasta. Come roll up your sleeves and learn how to make your own pasta dough. Since it's Ravioli, we guide you through two wonderful fillings and a great sauce to top off the dish.  Create, taste, and  compare: these are Fall dishes to savor and serve often. The menu will include pasta made from scratch with Burrata (cheese) or corn filling served with olive oil, leek and red pepper sauce.
