TONIGHT! Film Courage presents The Great Intervention: The 21st Film Courage Interactive with David Branin and Karen Worden features The Great Intervention, written and directed by Stephen Moramarco. The night will also include a couple of short films, include Street Moves by Ross Harris and more. Made possible by a $5,000 Kickstarter campaign, The Great Intervention is about Steve Moramarco, a single, unemployed 40-something Man-Child, thinks he has finally been discovered by a documentary film crew after years of languishing in obscurity.
Wednesday, September 28 Running Scared 25th Anniversary Screening (director & cast in person!): 25th anniversary screening with director Peter Hyams and cast member Darlanne Fluegel scheduled to appear IN PERSON to discuss the film! The 1986 action/comedy film, starring Gregory Hines, Billy Crystal, and Jimmy Smits, chronicles two Chicago police officers that decide to retire from the force and open a bar in Florida -- but have to do one last arrest before they go.
Friday, September 30 Disco Bloodbath: A medical-fetish themed party hosted by Maegan Machine, featuring performances by Lily Hex and Viola Lala Mia, plus a medical fetish runway show, IV cocktails and more.
Saturday, October 1 Fight Crew vs. Varsity Brawlers (21+ event!): Are you ready for some All Women's Bank Track Roller Derby action with the Los Angeles Derby Dolls? Jack Littman will be singing the national anthem and the band King Queen will be performing at half-time. L.A. Derby Dolls events offer a full range of entertainment off the track, with the Vendor Village featuring art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza, Hot Dog on a Stick, and a variety of other food trucks, and natural energy beverages provided by Ex-Drinks. Tecate beer will be served by Alex's Bar and The Derby Dolls proudly introduce ready-to-drink Jack Daniel's bottles as a new sponsor for the 2011 season.
Sunday, October 2 A Night At The Edison Benefitting The Midnight Mission: This evening of comedy and live music will benefit The Midnight Mission. The benefit will also feature a VIP hors doeuvre and cocktail reception, and exclusive auction featuring fabulous Los Angeles stay-cations, fine wines, and jewelry. The Edison is a downtown hotspot, recently ranked as one of GQs Top 25 bars in America.
Established in 1914, The Midnight Mission provides diverse services to the homeless of Los Angeles.
