ALL WEEKEND LONG!! New York Hell's Kitchen Film Festival The mission of the New York Hell's Kitchen Film Festival is twofold: one, to revitalize and bring attention to Hell's Kitchen as a community of artists and film enthusiasts by way of a digital film festival at the Producers' Club, located in the heart of Hell's Kitchen; and two, to provide a fresh and exciting New York film festival for independent filmmakers whose voices may still be new, undiscovered or unheralded, creating invaluable exposure for works that may have fallen through the cracks, are waiting to break through or demand further attention.
TONIGHT! QUI ÊTES-VOUS, POLLY MAGOO? Supermodel Polly Maggoo (Dorothy McGowan) is at the center of a whirlwind of publicity. As she discusses her life with a television crew, she embarks on flights of fancy that include a "Prince Charming" (Sami Frey), animated interludes, and aluminum-foil clothing. This satire on the fashion industry provides a glimpse into this world as viewed by writer-director William Klein, the photographer and filmmaker who introduced innovation into fashion photography using varying exposures and lenses. With special introduction by Simon Doonan, creative ambassador-at-large for Barneys New York.
Saturday, September 10 The Hugger-Mugger Ball II Step into a party-happy Hell for a night at The Hugger-Mugger Ball, the speakeasy party of the dead. An all red lit room with flashing carnival lights flowing with absinthe, whiskey, beer and wine served by scantily clad deceased beauties, witness two tales of lust, love, loss and madness by carnival-rag-cabaret demons Jeff Palmiotti & Hey Rube, bubbly burlesque by Miss Velvet Yorke, burly boylesque by Rockit, debaucherous soul-cabaret from Silya the Norse PopPirate and rough-house piano from Charlie "the Hammer" Judkins.
Sunday, September 11 Honey Badger Honey Badger is BACK! It's the improv extravaganza that will blow your mind. Hilarious improvisers from different teams, theaters and disciplines come together to throw down in a wild show where no holds are barred. Stay for an OPEN JAM at the end and get up on stage yourself. You can forget your worries on this night because Honey Badger don't care. Honey Badger don't give a s*!t. Monday, September 12 DARRYL JOVAN WILLIAMS - "I'M STILL SANGIN'!" Darryl Williams, accomplished singer/actor, will be back by popular demand to sing with a full band. Just vocals and a 4 piece band, with music director Michael O. Mitchell. Darryl will be singing songs from Broadway new works.
