BPT Mixtape #9 - Jimmy's Waiting for a Train to Abilene

Something about this winter has got me spinning a bunch of old country records. I grew up in a small town and my mom played a lot of classic country around the house while I was growing up so, I've always had a soft spot for classic, hillbilly sounds.
I've arranged these in chronological order, so that's why we're beginning with the great folk originators Jimmie Rodgers, The Carter Family, and Woody Guthrie. Dig the vintage footage of Jimmie and Woody!
I finished with a current artist that has his feet firmly rooted in that classic 50's country sound, Wayne "The Train" Hancock. I highly recommend checking out one of his shows if he's in your town. I think last time I saw him he played for over 3 hours! Hope you guys enjoy the mix, I had a lot of fun putting it together.
