The San Francisco Improv Festival is back for its third year with more incredible improvisation from some of the finest local, national and international comedy ensembles. The Buriel Clay will host all performances each night at 8pm with two different groups each week; one San Francisco based group, the other a visiting group from another city. It's the longest improv festival in the country running for an unprecedented 7 weeks. That's a lot of funny business.
This year includes appearances by The Second City Los Angeles The Group, African American Improv Closing Weekend with Nation of Improv (LA) and Oui Be Negroes (San Francisco) and the return for the third year of San Francisco favorite improv ensemble True Fiction Magazine with Boston's favorite improv ensemble ImprovBoston.
In addition to the professional comedy troupes, a seven week summer improv program for kids. The San Francisco Improv Festival Youth Program is a seven week program teaching youth improvisation and culminates with a joint performance with Kid Improv Theater Company Total Improv For Kids (Los Angeles)
What could happen at one of these things? Anything. You might see a chorus line, a Shakespearian drama, slapstick or a musical number. You'll be watching the creation of something that's never happened before -- and won't happen again.
